ABSTRACT
This study includes process planning of prismatic parts by means of expert system. On the computer controlled machine tools, operation methods and mostly used process types in manufactures are drawn with solid modeling. Features recognition process is achieved with"B-Rreb" modeling method to give vectorel direction knowledge and adjacent relationships of surface using STEP standard interface program. Furthermore, operation type and sequence of operation are defined for the prismatic parts by using the database achieved from the feature recognition module. This developed method was prepared on the IBM compatible PC by using C++ programming language is used for this purpose and explained with a sample.
