AsaoluS. SOlaofeO. 2200822The concentration of heavy metals (zinc, lead, manganese, iron, copper, cobalt, chromium, cadmium and nickel) in water, sediment and different parts of(Tilapia mossambicus) fish were analyzed using atomic absorption spectrophotometer. Cobalt, chromium and nickel were not detected in any of the samples while other metals are more concentrated in the sediment and fish parts than water. The heavy metals concentration determined were below the deleterious level while the water qualities were within the standard limit for drinking water. There were evidence of bioconcentration of the metals in fish parts with factors for zinc, manganese, iron and lead ranging between 20.6- 77.7, 11.0-60.0, ND-126.3 and ND-10.0, respectively.]]>Adeyeye, E.I.,1994Illisha africana fish, associated water and soil sediments from some fish ponds.]]>45231240Adeyeye, E.I.,1996Illisha africana fish, associated water and soils sediments from some fresh water ponds.]]>1171184Ali, H.,19781978Asaolu, S.S., K.O.
