A novel visible watermarking algorithm is proposed by considering the unique visual perception of document images. To obtain good visual quality of watermarked images and good perceptual watermark translucence, an adaptive scaling factor and embedding factor calculation method is designed by exploiting luminance and edge masking characteristics of document images. Experimental results prove that the scheme has both good visual quality of watermarked images and satisfactory visible watermark translucence.
