benzoxazine, benzothiazine, pyran and pyrrolidinedione derivatives using
readily available starting materials were described. It has been found
that compounds 4b, 8a and 8b were the most active compounds against the
test organisms. Compound 8b was the most active against Gram positive
and Gram negative bacteria (B. subtilus and E. coli)
where compounds 4b and 8a were active against (St. aureus). Compound
12a is the least active member of this group. On the other hand, compound
