ABSTRACT
The latent heat of adsorption (LHA) for barley has been estimated for the first time. The experiments were performed on a laboratory scale. The latent heat of adsorption estimated from the experiment is found to be 2485.5, 2393.1 and 2286.5 kJ/kg at 10, 14.8 and 19.2°C. The laboratory results showed a similar level of rewetting to the field data (lower than Deep Bed Simulation). The adsorption isotherms for barley should be measured as they are not currently available in the literature.
