Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) are among the most common bacterial infections in humans. The most frequent form of UTI is asymptomatic bacteriuria. The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of asymptomatic bacteriuria on female students from Babol Islamic Azad University. This research has been carried out on 207 female students from Babol Islamic Azad University in 2002. The age ranges of the students were between 18-29 years. Mid Stream Urine (MSU) collected by students. Urinalysis and bacteriological identification culture of MSU is done on all of specimens and repeat two times in total. The prevalence of asymptomatic bacteriuria was determined by dividing the total number of cultures with evidence of asymptomatic bacteriuria by the total number of routine scheduled urine cultures performed. Bacteriological tests of MSU revealed that 19/207 (9/2%) were positive for asymptomatic bacteriuria. The microbe most frequently causes asymptomatic bacteriuria was Staphylococcus saprophyticus in 7/19 (36/8%) followed by Escherichia coli in 6/19 (31/6%) and Klebsiella in 3/19 (15/8%) each. asymptomatic bacteriuria are high rate in our study, therefore young women must obey the general rules of hygiene especially about genitourinary system to avoid increasing of asymptomatic bacteriuria rate.

Diabetes mellitus remains as a significant universal health problem. Globally, the prevalence of diabetes mellitus is projected to growth from 135 million in 1995 to 300 million in 2025. The main aim of this study was determination of the effect of rice bran on blood glucose level and plasma lipid parameters in type II patients. This study was Double Blind non cross-over Trial 60 Diabetic Patient which hadnít renal and liver disorder and high hypertension after physical exam selected and then randomly divided to two intervention and control group first group intake 10 g soluble rice bran 2 period a day (at morning and before sleeping) and second group intake placebo blood glucose and plasma lipids levels were determined before and after study The data were analyzed by paired t-test and ANOVA, using SPSS and Food processor. The fasting serum Glucose level and 2 h after eating were reduced significantly (p< 0/001). Triglyceride levels were reduced (p< 0/01) and HDL were increased significantly too (p< 0/05).LDL and cholesterol had reduced too but not significant (p>0.05). Consequently, rice bran can be used as nutritional supplements for the control of diabetes mellitus patients.

Approximately 210 million pregnancies occur in world annually, which 38% of them are unplanned and 22% are aborted. About 80,000 abortion occurs each year in Iran. The main aim of this study, was determining abortion relation factors among women in Ardabil, Iran. This study is a case-control study, 200 mothers which had abortion selected randomly and 200 mothers which had delivered a term infant matched (age) with them for control group. Data were collected by interview and questionnaire and results compared together via chi square and t-test. This study showed significant relationship between abortion and history of previous abortions and pregnancies (p<0.05). Because main reason of abortion was unwanted pregnancy, contraceptive education and counseling should be considered as priorities of heath program.
