  The Henan Dairy goat is a prolific goat breed in China. The exons 2 of growth differentiation factor 9 (GDF9) gene in three randomly selected does of Henan Dairy goat, Yaoshan goat and Taihang Black goat were amplified and analyzed. The SNPs (T1189C (Val397Ile) and T3615C (Val240Ala) in exon 2) were detected in three goat breeds with different prolificacy, in which T3615C was a new SNP in goats. The product amplified by primers P1 and P2 displayed polymorphisms. For primer P1, three genotypes (GG, GA and AA) were detected in Henan Dairy goats and Yaoshan goats, two genotypes (GG and GA) were found in Taihang Black goat goats and one mutation (1189T→C) was found by sequencfing in GA genotype. The differences of Least Squares Mean (LSM) for litter size between genotypes GG, GA and AA were significant (p<0.05) in Henan Dairy goat and non-significant (p>0.05) in Taihang Black goat. For primer P2, two genotypes (GG and GA) were detected in three goat breeds and one mutation (3615T→C) was found by sequencing. The differences of LSM for litter size between genotypes GG and GA were significant (p<0.05) in Henan Dairy goats. These results preliminarily showed that the detected loci of the GDF9 gene maybe a major gene that influences prolificacy of Henan Dairy goats.

  With the aim to detect micro-satellites loci affecting prolific in Funiu White Goat, Eight micro-satellites loci (OarAE101, BM1329, BM 143, LSCV043, GC101, TGLA68, OarHH55 and OarHH35) were selected to study the genetic polymorphisms in Funiu White goats and to analyze their association with litter size of the goat breeds. Within these seven loci, Polymorphism Information Content (PIC), Number of effective alleles (Ne) and Heterozygosity (H) were calculated. The results showed that the mean number of alleles per locus was 7.63±1.60 (range from 6-11) and the mean Ne was 5.34±0.41 (range, 4.74-5.61) and the mean PIC was 0.79±0.02 (range, 0.756-0.799), the mean heterozygosity was 0.88±0.03 (range, 0.84-0.92). It is indicated that the 8 microsatellite loci on the litter size of goat showed that 110 and 110/110 bp at OarAE101, 147/160 bp at 1329, 108/118 and 108 bp at BM143, 160 and 123/160 bp at OarHH35, 115 and 115/115 bp at TGLA68, 123/123 and 145/150 bp at OarHH55, 95/160 bp at LSCV043 had positive effects on the litter size in Funiu White goat. While 155 bp at BM1329, 100/123 bp at BM143 has negative effects on the second litter size and 119/135 bp at OarHH 55,115/160 bp at LSCV043 has negative effects on the total litter size in Funiu White goat. These results may be applied to marker-assisted selection and molecular breeding of Funiu White goat in future.

  The productive characteristics of Chinese Henan dairy goat and its development in central China are presented. Adult males being 82.86 cm and adult females 65.27 cm high at withers, weighing 69.9 and 39.96 kg, respectively. This breed has a high reproductive performance. Male and female kids reached puberty at a mean age of 120 and 150 days, respectively. The number of kids at one time varies from single to septuplet with the kidding rate is given as 2.02. Goat fed only on grass in first parity period, produced 619.19 kg milk in 305 days of lactation and 668.4 kg in second parity, 698.73 kg in third parity. The total solids, protein, ash content were rich in goat milk. On slaughter performance when kids are 10 months old, the live eight is 37.25 and 33.15 kg, carcass weight is 19.00 kg and 16.34, the slaughter rate are 54.09 and 53.00%, carcass dressing rate are 43.62 and 42.11%, respectively in male and female kids. The dairy goat’s fate in Henan province will be great attention.

  Acid modified clinoptilolite are usually used as adsorbents for NH3, heavy metals and organic contaminants. Acid-modified clinoptilolite was prepared using the method of ion exchange reaction at 80°C for 4 h and used for bacteria and toxins adsorption which are significant for providing mechanism for the adsorption of microorganisms in vitro. XRD, SEM, AFM, BET and micropore volume were used to characterize parent clinoptilolite and acid modified clinoptilolite. Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) was used to determine changes of adsorption ability before and after modification. The acid-modified clinoptilolite showed the strong adsorptive in the rang of 20-25 mg g-1 when the initial bacterial suspension concentration was 1x108 Colony Forming Units (CFU)/mL. The adsorption capacities of acid-modified clinoptilolite for all bacterial suspension increased with an increase of initial bacterial suspension concentration. An increase of adsorption capability of acid-modified clinoptilolite was attributed to the BET and micropore volume. These results indicated the competency of acid-modified clinoptilolite adsorbent for bacteria adsorption.
