  Up to thirty piglets with an average live body weight of 5.9±0.5 kg were challenged using enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli and randomly assigned to three treatment groups fed a corn-soybean meal-based diet containing either no addition (control group), 0.1 g kg-1 of lactoferrampin-lactoferricin (lactoferrampin-lactoferricin group) or 0.1 g kg-1 of chlortetracycline (chlortetracycline group) for 21 days. Compared with the control group, dietary supplementation with lactoferrampin-lactoferricin or chlortetracycline increased the body weight and daily weight gain and decreased the feed to gain ratio, diarrhea rate and serum IgM and IgG levels (p<0.05). The serum levels of IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, diamine oxidase and endothelin-1 were not significantly different among all treatment groups (p>0.05). Compared with the control group, dietary supplementation with lactoferrampin-lactoferricin changed the serum concentrations of 10 amino acids (p<0.05); dietary supplementation with chlortetracycline only changed the serum histidine concentration (p<0.05). These results indicate that lactoferrampin-lactoferricin and chlortetracycline have similar effects on piglets weaned at 21 days of age which is expected to have practical applications in the livestock industry.

  The effects of spermine on the development of small intestine and growth performance of newly weaned pigs were investigated. Thirty pigs were used and the treatment of spermine was through oral administration for the 1st 3 days after weaning with the dose of 0, 300, 600, 900 or 1200 μmol per pig daily. The administration of spermine improved Average Daily Feed Intake (ADFI) and Average Daily Gain (ADG) in the periods 0-14 (p<0.05) but had no significant effects on the ratio of Feed to Gain (F/G) and protein/DNA contents of the duodenal or ileal mucosa. The protein/DNA content of the jejunum was significantly increased at the doses of 300 and 600 μmol day-1 spermine but was declined at the higher doses. The villus height in the duodenum (p<0.01) and ileum (p<0.05) increased with an increase in spermine doses. The crypt depth was reduced by spermine in the jejunum and the ratio of villus height/crypt depth was increased by spermine in the duodenum, jejunum and ileum (p<0.05). Additionally, the treatment of spermine at tested doses showed no effect on D-xylose absorption by the small intestine. These results indicate that oral administration of spermine for 3 days after weaning increased ADG and ADFI, enhanced the development of the small intestinal mucosa and improved intestinal morphology.

  This research was conduct to study the effect of high intensity movement raining on the amino acids metabolism and distribution in internal organ and ntestinal morphosis. About 40 Sprague-Dawley male rats were randomly divided intoexercised group and sedentary group. On day 10 after the initiation treatment average daily feed intake became significant lower and the average weight became significantlower on day 12 compared with the sedentary group. There was not significant difference about amino acids in the serum but valine which was significant lower than sedentary groups. Movement training increased significantly all amino acids content except cysteine in the intestinal tissue but failed in the liver and muscle eventhough all amino acids were higher in the muscle than sedentary group but cysteine. Amino acids digestibility was lower in exercised group and it became significant lower when it comes to lysine and histidine. Additionally, movement training decreased the numbers of lymphocyte but had no effect on the goblet cell villi height and crypt depth in middle jejunum.

  Once a mammal infected by a microorganism an elaborate response will be generated that attempts to eliminate the infection agent. These responses contained innate immune responses and adaptive immune responses. Cytokines played a role in both innate and adaptive immune responses. Porcine circovirus type 2 was the causal agent of postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome which was an economically important disease in pigs. Although, the interaction between immune responses and porcine circovirus was suggested as a determinant factor in the pathogenesis of postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome, the reports about the cytokines profile in PCV2 infection were mixed and confused. Thus, a detailed review about this field was presented according to the literature and the lab’s conclusion.
