Proteasome inhibitors are involved in cell cycle control, growth and inflammatory signaling, and transcriptional regulation of mitotic cells. A recent study has suggested that specific proteasome inhibitor MG132 may suppress cardiomyocyte hypertrophy in vitro. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms are not clear. In this study, we investigated the effects of long-term MG132 treatment on cardiac hypertrophy and the related molecular mechanisms in vivo. MG132 (0.1 mg/kg/day) was intraperitoneally injected to rats with abdominal aortic banding (AAB) for 8 weeks. Results showed that treatment with MG132 significantly attenuated left ventricular (LV) myocyte area, LV weight/body weight, and lung weight/body weight ratios, decreased LV diastolic diameter and wall thickness, and increased fractional shortening in AAB rats. AAB induced the phosphorylation of ERK1/2, JNK1, and p38 in cardiac myocytes. The elevated phosphorylation levels of ERK1/2 and JNK1 in AAB rats were significantly reversed by MG132 treatment. In conclusion, our results suggested that long-term treatment with MG132 attenuates pressure-overload-induced cardiac hypertrophy and improves cardiac function in AAB rats through regulation of ERK1/2 and JNK1 signaling pathways.

  The optical and electrical properties of Copper-Indium-Selenium (CIS) thin films have been investigated using various experimental techniques. These compounds are extensively used in solar cell technology due to their exciting characteristics. CIS thin films have been grown onto glass substrates by a Stacked Element Layer (SEL) deposition technique in vacuum. Optical transmission measurements on different compositions of CIS films are observed and the absorption coefficient is determined. The Van der Pauw technique is used to divulge the electrical characteristics of these films. The electrical conductivity is found relatively high for the films annealed in vacuum but decreases for the films synthesised optimally. It is observed that p-type films have higher conductivity than n-type films. The reaction temperature of CIS formation is 250°C in vacuum. These properties are of great significance in manufacturing solar sell devices.

  Presently, stereo matching algorithms are almost in purpose of pursuing high matching precision, the whole time spent in algorithms are too long. In this study, we proposed a stereo matching algorithm based on aligning genomic sequence, according to the comparability on the theory of aligning genomic sequences and stereo matching algorithm. Firstly, pixels in each epipolar on stereo image were transformed into the form of genomic sequences and then used calculation method of getting score matrix by comparison of genomic sequence to establish two-dimensional disparity space images. At last, we finally get disparity using searching optimization strategy in aligning genomic sequences to do global optimization. The experimental results show that the whole time of this method is greatly reduced and matching quality is still good.
