  A Fast Hough transform method is proposed to perform mobile robot`s Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) under the strategy step by step. The laser range finder is used to detect the operating environment, where three important loops are included. First, though the laser data is very precise, its uncertainty still exists, i.e., the detecting points always are around the real points. Then the laser points are clustered according to a distance principle, the slope between two points and then apply the Hough transform method within sub-class to extract the straight line feature. Second, the mergence of line segments is needed by justify the similarity of two straight lines. Third, find out the difference between newly detected lines and reference lines by considering the similarity principle and the robot pose error can be obtained to calibrate the robot. So the SLAM can be implemented through the three loops finally, Experiment results show the validity of present method.

  In this study, a new method of information fusion DSmT (Dezert-Smarandache Theory) which is extended from Bayesian Theory and Dempster-Shafer Theory (DST) is introduced to solve the problem of robot map building in an unknown dynamic environment. The grid map method is adopted and a sonar sensor mathematical model is constructed based on DSmT. Meanwhile a few of general basic belief assignment functions (gbbaf) are constructed to deal with the uncertain and imprecise, sometimes even high conflicting information obtained by sonar sensors with the application of hybrid DSm model in the system and consideration of characteristics of sonar sensors. At last, Pioneer II mobile robot is used to carry out experiments of map building. The 2D general basic belief assignment (gbba) maps are structured and then correlative 3D gbba maps are built by openGL. The comparison of created ichnography with the real map testified the validity of hybrid DSm model for fusing imprecise information and map building proposed by this research.

  Focusing on the problem of fault detection and isolation (FDI) for a missile in the cruise phase, a solution based on Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) Fault Detection Filter (FDF) is proposed. The missile LPV model incorporating faults is established and converted to a suitable form for the appliance of LPV, FDI via simplifying and other tools. Based on that, a fault detection system of missile is proposed for fault detection and isolation, of which the LPV filter bank can be designed using standard geometrical approach. Simulation results demonstrate that the designed fault detection system will alarm in a short time once faults happen and then locate the fault part correctly. Since the designed fault detection system is suitable for the high maneuverability of the missile and the on-line calculation load is small, the solution is of great practical value.

  The aim of this review was to discuss the current understanding of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) genetic advance and aetiology. The T2DM is a genetically heterogeneous disease, with several relatively rare monogenic forms and a number of more common forms resulting from a complex interaction of genetic and environmental factors. Earlier studies using a candidate gene approach, family linkage studies and gene expression profiling uncovered a number of T2DM genes, but the genetic basis of common T2DM remained unknown. Recent years have seen a tremendous surge in our understanding of the genetics of T2DM by Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS). Approximately 20 genes consistently associated with T2DM mainly implicate pancreatic β-cell function in the pathogenesis of T2DM.

  We have previously shown that ASK1-interacting protein 1 (AIP1) transduces tumor necrosis factor-induced ASK1-JNK signaling. Because endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress activates ASK1-JNK signaling cascade, we investigated the role of AIP1 in ER stress-induced signaling. We created AIP1-deficient mice (AIP1-KO) from which mouse embryonic fibroblasts and vascular endothelial cells were isolated. AIP1-KO cells show dramatic reductions in ER stress-induced, but not oxidative stress-induced, ASK1-JNK activation and cell apoptosis. The ER stress-induced IRE1-JNK/XBP-1 axis, but not the PERK-CHOP1 axis, is blunted in AIP1-KO cells. ER stress induced formation of an AIP1-IRE1 complex, and the PH domain of AIP1 is critical for the IRE1 interaction. Furthermore, reconstitution of AIP1-KO cells with AIP1 wild type, not an AIP1 mutant with a deletion of the PH domain (AIP1-ΔPH), restores ER stress-induced IRE1-JNK/XBP-1 signaling. AIP1-IRE1 association facilitates IRE1 dimerization, a critical step for activation of IRE1 signaling. More importantly, AIP1-KO mice show impaired ER stress-induced IRE1-dependent signaling in vivo. We conclude that AIP1 is essential for transducing the IRE1-mediated ER stress response.
