  The objective of this study was to investigate the ability of a complex enzyme (LIQ 1) to degrade two polymer compounds Sesbania gum and Guar gum. The study was based on an assumption that the polymer compounds dissolved in water would increase viscosity and be able to plug an artificial rock sample (made of pulverized coal) placed in a pressured chamber. The study also based on an assumption that complex enzyme (LIQ 1) would slowly degrade the polymer compounds there by reducing their viscosity and hence forth unplug the artificial rock. Viscosity of Sesbania gum solution basing on 600 rotations per min on the Fann V-G meter, Model 35 without complex enzyme was 40, after 6 h, the value did not change. The viscosity of Guar gum solution was 34 and after 6 h was still the same. This showed the polymer compounds were not auto degradable at room temperature. Mixtures of polymer compounds and enzyme mixture however, showed a decrease in viscosity after 1 h, Sesbania gum had reduced to 30 and Guar gum 26. The artificial rock sample was plugged with Guar Gum additive 20 min into the experiment and later degraded by the complex enzyme 30 min into the experiment. Sesbania gum plugged the rock after 20 min and was degraded after a longer time of 300 min into the experiment.

  In the last years, the development of railway logistics information systems has obtained apparent progress in China. The effective operation of railway logistics enterprise information system greatly depends on its advanced nature, in which the information sharing technology becomes an important part of the logistics information system. It has important guiding significance to achieve information sharing which is based on Service-Oriented Architecture. This study investigates the railway logistics enterprise information system, combines with China’s railway information system characteristics and base on SOA to realize railway logistics information system for information sharing, it provides reference to railway logistics information development in the future.

  A magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticle/chiral nematic liquid crystal (N*-LC) composite was prepared and filled into a planar treated cell. The Fe3O4 nanoparticles had been modified by oleic acid so that they could be better dispersed in the composite. When a magnetic field was scanned on the outer surface of the cell locally, Fe3O4 nanoparticles moved towards the inner surface of the cell correspondingly, and the black expected information was displayed. When the magnet was applied to the opposite outer surface, the information was erased. After polymer network walls were prepared in the composite, the resolution of the information displayed increased. Then, through the formation of hydrogen bonds between the nanoparticles and chiral pyridine compound (CPC) doped in the composite, the pitch length of the N*-LC could be adjusted by altering the intensity of the applied magnetic field. The composite doped with CPC could potentially be used as a material for a type of reflective colour paper with magnetically controllable characteristics.

  A polymer-stabilised cholesteric liquid crystal (PSChLC) was fabricated by ultraviolet (UV) induced polymerisation of photopolymerisable acrylate monomers mixed in a cholesteric liquid crystal (ChLC). A polymer network with a concentration gradient, which was induced by UV light absorption of dye along the propagation direction, was formed. A hydrogen bond, arising between the polymer network with a concentration gradient containing carboxyl as proton donors and chiral dopant (CD) as proton acceptors, induced a pitch gradient in PSChLC and then, as a consequence, broadband reflection. The broadband reflection is associated with the concentration and the composition of photopolymerisable acrylate monomers, the concentration of CD and the polymerisation temperature. Examining the morphologies of the polymer network by scanning electron microscopy, the helix structure and pitch gradient were verified, confirming the pitch gradient of the PSChLC and revealing the essence of the formation of broadband reflection.
