  The effects of nettle (Urtica diocia L.), containing natural antioxidants, on chemical properties of rainbow trout (Oncorynchus mykiss) fillets were investigated. Thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS), total antioxidant activity, total volatile bases nitrogen (TVB-N) and pH values were measured from rainbow trout fillets treated with nettle at three concentrations (0.4, 0.8 and 1.6), without nettle as control and 0.8% propyl gallate (positive control) during 9 days of storage at 4±1 °C. The storage time and antioxidant treatment caused significant (p<0.05) changes in TBARS, total antioxidant activity, TVB-N and pH values. TBARS values in fillets of control group exceeded the acceptable level (20 μmol kg-1) on the 5th day. However, fillets treated with nettle at three concentrations and propyl gallate did not reach this degree during the experimental period. The fillets treated with 0.4% of nettle exhibited most effective and powerful antioxidant activity. The antioxidant activity of samples decreased with increasing nettle concentrations. However, the samples treated with 0.4 and 0.8% of nettle showed higher antioxidant activities than that 0.8% of propyl gallate. TVB-N values in fillets of control group reach above 25 mg/100 g on the 3rd day. However, nettle and propyl gallate groups were reached above this level on 5th day. Considering present data, it was concluded that using nettle containing natural antioxidants might cause a distinct beneficial reduction in lipid oxidation and extend storage time of aerobically packaged rainbow trout fillets.

  In vitro susceptibilities of 30 Aeromonas salmonicida strains isolated from rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were determined against to 23 antimicrobials by using disc diffusion method. According to antimicrobial susceptibility tests results, A. salmonicida strains were found susceptible to all antibiotics tested except for the ampicilin and vancomycine. The major fatty acids, used as indicators for identification of the bacteria, were found as 14:0 3OH/16:1 ISO I, 16:1 w7c/15 ISO 2OH, 16:0 and 18:1 w7c, respectively.

Globalization has clearly made its mark on research and university education. International mobility among researchers and students has increased significantly in recent decades. Similarly, a growing part of research takes place in networks that extend across national borders. Close interaction with a wide range of players internationally has therefore become a basic requirement for exchanging talent, developing new knowledge and maintaining high quality standards. ICUA has done many Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreements with leading universities in the world in 2010 to 2013. In this study, it is aimed to give some information about internationalization process of Ibrahim Cecen University of Agri (ICUA) that has been trying to realize exchanging staff and students successfully with other universities in the world by modifying its teaching programs to provide graduates an advantage and to achieve high quality education standards.

  Environmental pollutants, agricultural and industrial waste, emissions or pollution, the aquatic or terrestrial environment pouring also defined as chemicals from treated and untreated sewage. These toxic substances by interfering with the endocrine system of humans and animals physiology, endocrinology and general impact on the health aspects are different. The two most important groups of these substances, heavy metals and pesticides creates. Need the protection of human health and nutrition in terms of both the economic benefits of pesticides, due to its resistance to degradation of natural water, soil and air pollution causes and ecological systems are destabilized. While the majority of pesticides effective for target organisms, human and non-target harm to other living things are. Especially, resistant to natural degradation and soluble in fatty tissue organochlorine pesticides, harmful to all living things accumulate in my biyoekosiste can reach levels. Nature, intentionally or unintentionally discarded chemicals, industrial waste resulting from the mixture of chemical pollution is pollution. The chemicals currently regarded as an impurity of heavy metal contamination can arise from various sources be resistant to environmental conditions and can easily enter the food chain due to their in vivo accumulate with increasing concentrations of other chemical pollutants are in the first place. Studies indicate that water contaminated by environmental pollutants. Investigation of pesticides and heavy metals in water level will give us information on environmental pollution rights.

  It is accepted that globalization, frequently confused with internationalization in higher education and science is inevitable wave of the future but is in fact something totally different. Modern technology, the internet the increasing ease of communication and the flow of students and highly educated personnel across borders enhances globalization. Therefore, from this respects almost all of the academic systems have to change their strategies in 21st century. Awaraness and acceptance of the inequlities in science and education is so important and is the starting point for the internationalization. Another one is the amelioration of such negative situations and integration with the other education units. In this study, globalization, internationalization, localization and the strategies based on these facts of Agri Ibrahim Cecen University is discussed.
