  The content of zinc in scalp hair of different age groups either sex of different socioeconomic value were determined by using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy and Spectrofluorophotometer techniques. The level of zinc was high in female scalphair than those of male. The element of zinc was related to age 8 to 10 years and level of zinc increase with age in both sexes . The concentration of zinc was high in nails as compare to hair samples. The comparative study for zinc in hair and nail sample showed that Spectrofluorometric method was high value of zinc as compared to Atomic Absorption and this method applied to determine the micro amount of zinc in biological materials.

  An objective procedure and technical study has been carried out that measure the degree of oxidation of vegetable oil samples stabilized with phenolic antioxidants. Traditionally used antioxidants were added with in the maximum permissible limit   (200 ppm) and samples of refined, bleached and deodorized Soybean oil were stored at ambient conditions for a period of one year. Analysis was performed periodically after each sixty days. Various chemical and instrumental methods were applied to test the oil deterioration that permit the distinction of oxidative alteration level during storage. Quantitative measurements revealed significantly higher rate of oxidative alteration and degradation in untreated samples during the early period of six to seven months as compare to the stabilized and treated samples. Treated samples were found to show more extensive degradative changes in the ending period of four to five months as compare to early period.

  Three extraction methods, ultrasonic assisted extraction (USE), microwave assisted extraction (MSE), and conventional single extraction (CSE), in conjunction with the modified three-stage BCR sequential extraction procedure (SEP) were applied to examine the contents of Cd, Cu, Cr, Ni, Pb and Zn from lake sediment samples, to know whether these techniques can reduce extraction time and improve reproducibility. The SEP and developed alternative single extraction methods were validated by the analysis of certified reference material BCR 601. By the use of optimized sonication and microwave conditions, steps 1, 2 and 3 of the BCR sequential extraction methods (excluding the hydrogen peroxide digestion in step 3, which was not performed with sonication and microwave) could be completed in 15-30 min and 60-150 s, respectively. The recoveries of total extractable metal contents in BCR 601, obtained by three single extractions ranged from 93.3%-101.9%, 88.9%-103.8% and 81.2%-96.2% for CSE, USE and MSE, respectively. The precision of the single extraction methods was found in the range of 3.7%-9.4% for all metals (n = 6).
