  Verbascum suworowianum (C.Koch) O. Kuntze, var. suworowianum and Verbascum suworowianum var. papillosum (Murb.) Hub.-Mor. are included in the A group of genus of Verbascum L. in Flora of Turkey. A group is different from other groups by having 4 stamens. These two taxa have a local distribution in the Northwest of Anatolia and under the threatened factors. Both of them are local taxa. In this study, the detail morphological description which was not given as accurrant previously in Flora of Turkey, the ecological peculiarities, pollen, seed structure and indumentum in SEM are given. The description of these two varieties are supported by pallinologic and ecologic characteristics and some suggestions and studies are started for the conservation.

  The antimicrobial activity of the ethyl acetate, acetone, chloroform and ethanol extracts from Anthemis coelopoda Var. bourgaei Boiss and Anthemis tinctoria Var. pallida DC. were investigated by agar disc diffusion method and all of the extracts exhibited an antimicrobial effect against to most of the tested bacteria. The ethyl acetate extracts of Anthemis coelopoda Var. bourgaei showed some degree of activity against to some bacteria. Minimal Inhibition Concentration (MIC) of ethyl acetate, ethanol, acetone and chloroform extracts of the samples were determined for some bacteria. In conclusion, MIC value of A. coelopoda Var. bourgaei against to all of the bacteria tested except for S. pneumoniae was lower than the Ciprofloxacin suggesting that it is more effective.

  Centaurea polyclada DC is an endemic species belonging to the family Compositae (Asteraceae) Sect. Acrolophus. Morphology, anatomy, ecology, pollen and achene features of the species have been studied. C. polyclada is a perennial species growing up 60 cm height. Leaf segments and involucral bracts are in different shape at the base and upper part. The root xylem and leaf mesophyll contain secretory canals. Spongy parenchyma in the leaf is highly reduced. The stem epidermis has papilla like ejections. The pollen is tricolporate. C. polyclada grows in the soil poor in calcium, medium in phosphorus and rich in organic matter content.

  Autoecological and conservation aspects of the Astragalus stenosemioides D.F. Chamb and V.A. Matthews are discussed by studying the morphological and palynological studies. A. stenosemioides is a threatened, very local endemic species to Erciyes Mountain. Erciyes Mountain (3917 m) is volcanic mountain in the inner Anatolia part of Turkey. The rocky type is andezit and volcanic tufa and the soil is andezit and tufa without limestone. For this reason Erciyes Mountain, is one of the important floristic areas in Turkey. With regards to genetic resources, this area is of major importance for in situ conservation of plant genetic diversity. The data gained from field studies were evaluated according to IUCN categories (Criteria B1 B2) and the Critically Endangered (CR) status has been proposed for the species. It was determined that it grows in three small areas in the mountain where A. stenosemioides populations are under heavy grazing stress.

  The aim of this study to determine germination eco-physiology of Centurea amonicola Hub.-Mor., common countryside in Turkey, under over grazing thread. For this aim, germination of the seeds investigated under two different photoperiod (8h light-16h darkness and 16h light- 8 h darkness) and in different concentrations of NaCl, KNO H SO and HCl solutions. There was no germination in 3%NaCl, 1-3% KNO 1- 3, 2 4 3, 3%H SO and 2-3% HCI concentrations in each photoperiod. According to univariate variance analyse of 2 4 germination test results, germination media with different (0,5%, 1%, 2% NaCl; 0,5%, 1%, 2%, 3% KNO 0,5% 3; H SO ; 0,5%, 1% HCl concentrations and control (8h light-16h darkness and 16h light- 8 h darkness and 24 h 2 4 light) were significant; photoperiod and photoperiod-treatment interaction were not significant on germination percentage. And different concentration levels, photoperiod and photoperiod x treatment interactions were significant on germination speed (P<0.05).
