The parasitic female of the same age parasitized 7.1, 8.7, 2.9, 1.4 Agrotis segetum and 6.7, 7.6, 3.2, 1.1 A. ipsilon larvae of 3, 5, 7, and 10 days old in 6 hours duration respectively. The female parasitized 2.9, 8.7, 8.0, 7.7 A. segetum and 4.4., 7.6, 8.8, 10.0 A. ipsilon out of 5, 10, 15 and 20 number of each host larvae in 6 hours duration respectively. The female parasitized 37.8, 34.6, 33.6 A. segetum and 29.2, 26.6, 25.4 A. ipsilon larvae till her death at 20±2°C, 25±2°C and 30±2°C and 60 - 70 percent r.h. and 14 hours light respectively.

The results reveal that sarhad white was found the least susceptible on the basis of number of dead hearts and percent infestation compare to the other three tested varieties.
Sarhad white variety was also found significantly better than Kisan, Pirsabak experimental variety No. 1 and Pirsabak experimental variety No. 4 on the basis of average plant height, weight of stalk (kg/plot), average number of cobs/plant, weight of cobs (kg/plot) and weight of grains (kg/plot).

The results reveal that Dipterex with molasses was found most effective, followed by Malathion with molasses, Dipterex alone and Malathion alone at all of the three tested concentrations in the reduction of muskmelon fruit fly infestation. These treatments were found non significantly different from each others at all of the test concentrations, but were found significantly different from the control. High concentration of insecticides was found significantly more effective against melon fruit fly than low concentration. Losest percent of infested muskmelon fruits were recorded in plots treated with three sprays of Malathion and Dipterex, while two sprays of these insecticides were also found significantly better in the reduction of the infestation at 1% concentration compared to one spray.

The results of chemical control of maize stem borer Chilo partellus Swin. revealed that Furadan 3G proved significantly more effective in the reduction of percent dead hearts, pest infestation and in increase of stalk and cobs weight, average number of cobs/plant and grain yield followed by Ripcord 100 g/l EC and Tamaron SL 600. High dose of all the three insecticides gave better control of maize stem borer than medium and low doses. However, medium and low doses of insecticides were also found significantly better compared to the check.
