  A new two-parameter weighted exponential distribution which has more mild algebraic properties than the existing weighted exponential distribution was studied. Explicit expressions for some of its basic statistical properties including moments, reliability analysis, quantile function and order statistics were derived. Its parameters were estimated using the method of maximum likelihood estimation. The new probability model was applied to four real data sets to assess its flexibility over the existing weighted exponential distribution.

  A three parameter probability model, the so called Weibull-exponential distribution was proposed using the Weibull Generalized family of distributions. Some important models in the literature were found to be sub models of the new model. Explicit expressions for some of its basic mathematical properties like moments, moment generating function, reliability analysis, limiting behavior and order statistics were derived. The method of maximum likelihood estimation was proposed in estimating its parameters and real life applications were provided to illustrate its flexibility and potentiality over the exponential distribution.

  In this study, an optimized explicit Runge-Kutta (RK) method which is based on a method of Dormand with six-stage and fifth algebraic order with FSAL property denoted as the ORK5 method is constructed. The proposed method solves first-order Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs) by first converting the second order ODEs to an equivalent first order. The new method has zero phase-lag, zero amplification error and zero first derivative of the phase-lag. Absolute stability of the new method is as well shown. The numerical experiments are carried out to show the efficiency of the derived method in comparison with other existing RK methods.

  In this study, we consider a 9x9 post-filled Sudoku puzzle as an example of a three factorial design without blocking. Because of the rigidity of Sudoku, the all main effects and two factors interactions are all statistically insignificant. The three factor interaction is can be statistically significant or not. The use of column or row additions in the computation of the 3-factor interactions of a chosen Sudoku yields complementary results. If the rows addition gives an interaction effect that is statistically significant then the column result will be insignificant and vice versa. The treatment effects of the 3-factor effect of a post-filled Sudoku depend on whether the column or row sums are used in the computation of the interaction effect.
