  A multi-perspective expert system approach based on algebraic sum method was developed to deal with uncertain knowledge and provides different perspectives for different experts while dealing with single knowledge base according to experts’ interests. However, assertion value for each perspective is calculated and by using the algebraic summation method a conclusion can be determined.

  Granulometries are morphological image analysis tools that are particularly useful for estimating object sizes in binary and grayscale images, or for characterizing textures based on their pattern spectra. There are many applications that morphology can be applied to. Some morphological operations like dilation, erosion and open-close are used in image and video processing, but with no application to pre-processing for increasing a Codec's performance. These operations can be used as filters and if applied on an image, some information will be lost. In order to avoid information loose a sequence of morphological operation is suggested, this sequence can be used to separate low pass and high pass frequencies from the image without throwing any piece of data and the original image can always be reconstructed.

  IEEE standard 754 floating point is the most common representation used for floating point numbers, and many computer arithmetic algorithms are developed for basic operations on this standard. In this study, new computer algorithms are proposed to increase the precision range and to solve some problems that are available while using these algorithms. However, these algorithms provide an optional range of required accuracy (Mega-Digit precision) to meet new computer’s applications.

  High quality mammogram images are high resolution and large size images. Processing these images require high computational capabilities. The transmission of these images over the net is sometimes critical especially if the diagnosis of remote radiologists is required. In this paper, a pre-processing technique for reducing the size and enhancing the quality of USF and MIAS mammogram images is introduced. The algorithm analyses the mammogram image to determine if 16-bit to 8-bit conversion process is required. Enhancement is applied later followed by a scaling process to reduce the mammogram size. The performances of the algorithms are evaluated objectively and subjectively. On average 87% reduction in size is obtained with no loss of data at the breast region.

  A computer based drift radar system has been designed for real time ionspheric irregularities measurements where closely spaced receiver technique has been utilized. A computerized interface with the system a long with real time software has been developed to keep tracking of the measured data for further analysis. The system has been implemented at locations and produced a reliable analysis.
