  Infection by Toxoplasma gondii is widely prevalent in humans and other warm-blooded animals. Symptomatic disease is usually uncommon and most of the infections are asymptomatic. The important aspect of this parasitic infection is the probable danger of congenital transmission and its severing effects on the fetus. This cross-sectional study was conducted to determine the seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii IgG antibodies among women referred to Khorramabad central laboratory of health center for pre-marriage medical examinations in 2008. A total of 465 serum samples were examined for detection of specific Toxoplasma gondii IgG antibodies by Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Various information about participants was collected via., questionnaires. The SPSS 15.0 software was utilized to analyze the data from experiments. In order to check for statistical differences, Chi-square test and Fisher’s exact test were used. The results indicated that 97.2% (452 out of 465) of the women's sera had anti-Toxoplasma gondii IgG antibodies. However, no statistically significant differences were observed between age group, level of education, rural or urban residence and job in the seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii IgG antibodies. Regarding the results of this study, Khorramabad city has relatively hyperseropositivity for Toxoplasma gondii antibodies in women who intend to get married. However, a low number of these women were seronegative for Toxoplasmosis and susceptible to infection with Toxoplasma gondii and after it to congenital Toxoplasmosis in their pregnancy. Women infected with Toxoplasma gondii in pregnancy period have an abortion or baby's burn with mental retardation, hydrocephaly and macrocephaly, joundice and blindness symptoms; therefore, health education especially in women who are going to marry and also during pregnancy is necessary.

  This study was carried out at the Department of Plant Pathology of the Iranian Research Institute of Plant Protection during the period from January 2009 to December 2009 to develop some new bioformulations and evaluate their efficacy in promoting cotton seedlings growth characteristics. The interest in the use of biological approaches to replace chemical agents in fertilizing soils or improve plant resistance against phytopathogens is at present in continuous growth. In this regard, the use of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) has a potential role in developing sustainable systems for crop production. In search of efficient PGPR strains with multiple activities, we prepared eight bioformulations using two isolates of Pseudomonas fluorescens Q18 (B1) and CKK-3 (B2) which were isolated from rhizospheric soil and cotton roots in Varamin's cotton fields. Formulations included a talc-based powder and bentonite-based powder as inorganic carriers and peat and rice bran as organic carriers for increasing stability in interaction between associated PGPR and cotton plants. The results of a greenhouse experiment 60 days after sowing indicated that efficacy of BENT-B1, TAL-B1 and PT-B1 treatments were 1.38, 1.35 and 1.27 fold, BENT-B1, PT-B1 and TAL-B1 treatments were 1.42, 1.41 and 1.28 fold, RB-B2, TAL-B1 and RB-B1 treatments were 3.44, 3.37 and 2.90 fold and TAL-B1, RB-B2 and RB-B1 treatments were 2.60, 2.50 and 2.10, respectively on promoting seedling height, root length, seedling dry weight and root dry weight more effective than the control treatment.

  This study presents a multi-class Support Vector Machine (SVM) based method for on-line static security assessment of power systems. To classify the system security status, a group of binary SVMs have been trained. The multi-class Fisher score has been used for feature selection algorithm and the data selection has been done based on the confidence measure, to reduce the problem size and consequently to reduce the training time. The proposed method has been applied to New England 39-bus power system. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and stability of the proposed method for on-line static security assessment procedure of large scale power systems.

  This study considers the problem of multi-product multi-level capacitated lotsizing and sequencing problem with sequence-dependent setups. A Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) formulation of the problem is proposed which is impractical to solve in reasonable computing time for non-small instances. Reducing the dimensionality of the problem and allowing to solve larger instances, a modified mathematical model is developed which ignores majority of combinations. The ability to quickly find integer-feasible solutions for non-small instances is another aspect of this paper. Hybrid methods that mixes rolling-horizon approach and heuristic are developed. Heuristic is used to determine binary variables of current period. To test the accuracy of hybrid methods, a procedure for obtaining a lower bound on the optimal solution is developed. The trade-offs between objective values and computing times are also provided.

  Control chart is a statistical process control tool that is used to monitor the changes in a process. Hotelling's T2 chart is one of the most popular control charts for monitoring independently and identically distributed random vectors. This chart detects many types of out-of-control signals, but it is not sensitive to small shifts in the mean vector. This study propose a more efficient T2 control charts based on the re-weigted robust estimators of location and dispersion. The proposed control charts are attained by substituting the classical estimators of the mean vector and covariance matrix in the Hotelling's T2 by the re-weighted MCD and re-weighted MVE estimators. In this study, Monte Carlo simulations were carried out to establish the proposed robust control limit. Following that, we suggested suitable estimators for each condition. Our advice in this study is replacing the classical mean vector and covariance matrix of the data in the Hotelling's T2 statistic by there weighted MCD and Re-weighted MVE estimators.

  Niosoms are nanoparticles used in drug delivery systems. Niosomes are prepared by various methods. In this research niosoms were prepared by reverse phase evaporation and the factors affecting the niosomes formation were studied. Percent of paclitaxel pegylated and non-pegylated prepared with Span 60 were 95 and 92, respectively while for those of pegylated and non-pegylated niosomes with Span 20, 94 and 90, respectively. In addition, the average diameters of pegylated and no-pegylated prepared with Span 60 and 20 were determined to be 191, 214, 244 and 284 nm, respectively. The amount of released drug (48 h) from pegylated and non pegylated formulations in the presence of Spans 60 and 20 were 8, 10, 6, 7%, respectively. Cytotoxicities of paclitaxel niosom polyethyleneglycol, paclitaxel niosome and free paclitaxel on MCF-7 cell line after 48 hours were studied by MTT assay. The results showed the formulation prepared with Span 60 is more effective than that of Span 20 and the IC50 of the former was decreased twice while IC50 of the later decreased 1.5 times.

Voltage-gated sodium channels (Nav) produce sodium currents that underlie the initiation and propagation of action potentials in nerve and muscle cells. Fibroblast growth factor homologous factors (FHFs) bind to the intracellular C-terminal region of the Nav subunit to modulate fast inactivation of the channel. In this study we solved the crystal structure of a 149-residue-long fragment of human FHF2A which unveils the structural features of the homology core domain of all 10 human FHF isoforms. Through analysis of crystal packing contacts and site-directed mutagenesis experiments we identified a conserved surface on the FHF core domain that mediates channel binding in vitro and in vivo. Mutations at this channel binding surface impaired the ability of FHFs to co-localize with Navs at the axon initial segment of hippocampal neurons. The mutations also disabled FHF modulation of voltage-dependent fast inactivation of sodium channels in neuronal cells. Based on our data, we propose that FHFs constitute auxiliary subunits for Navs.
