  Digital forgery and tampering of text documents create an urgent need for content-based document authentication. Observe that main geometric features of characters would approximately stay invariant under small perturbations. A robust document authentication scheme is proposed using a skeleton-based text image hash function. The algorithm is aimed at producing sufficiently randomized outputs which are unpredictable, thereby yielding required properties of image hashing. In the verification stage, the deskewing mechanism base on Hough transform is used to compensate for the distortions induced by rotation or hardcopy operations. Experimental results show that this technique withstands standard benchmark (e.g., Stirmark) attacks, including compression, geometric distortions of scaling and small-angle rotation and common image processing operations. Content-based modifications of text data are also accurately detected.

  The rapid development of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) due to its non-invasive advantage calls for efficient image processing methods like the enhancement for visual inspection or a preprocessing for clinic diagnosis. In this study, we proposed a bivariate local Wiener filtering algorithm based on Undecimated Multiwavelet Transform (UMWT), where the dynamically generated windows are used for estimation of the signal variances of noisy wavelet coefficients. The computational complexity of the algorithm is low, since the operation of UMWT is the main computational burden, slight more than single wavelet transform. The performance of the new filter is assessed with simulated data experiments and tested with actual ESWL images. The results show that the proposed technique can help to meet the conflicting requirements of reproducing the low-contrast details with suppressing the overwhelming noise.

  A robust text watermarking algorithm is proposed to solve the problem of copyright protection for Chinese text documents in this study which watermarking structure and embedding strategy are comprehensively considered. Structure types and strokes of Chinese characters can be obtained through Chinese characters mathematic expression and the whole document is divided into two blocks by utilizing structure types of Chinese characters, the position selected to embed is chose by Chinese character’s strokes and the watermarking bit in each block. Watermarking bits with a robust structure is generated by chaos encrypting and hamming checkout coding. Positions of the destroyed watermarking bits can be judged exactly and block-checkout and hamming-checkout are used to recover them. The experimental result indicates that the proposed algorithm is robust and transparent.
