  This study proposes a system such that the performance improvement in load is achieved by providing micro grid connected Photo Voltaic (PV) system with Selective Harmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation (SHEPWM) inverter and wind mill with matrix converter. The Genetic Algorithm (GA) is used to generate the gate pulse pattern (odd and even number of switching angles) for SHEPWM inverter over the range of modulation indices. The GA optimized PI controller based space vector modulation technique for matrix converter is implemented to reduce the selective specified lower order harmonics present in the load and also improves the input power fator of matrix converter. This optimized SHEPWM inverter through PV system and optimized matrix converter through wind mill system is simulated using MATLAB Simulink and verified with the experimental results independently. Simulation results prove the validity of the proposed system for both selective harmonics and Total Harmonic Distortions (THD) are reduced on the load side and also the input power factor is improved.

  Depletion of fossil fuels and their impact on the environment had forced the central power authorities now a days to focus on renewable energy sources. Most of the countries practice ‘Feed in Tariff’ mechanism in the process of purchasing wind energy from Wind Power producers. The drawback of this Tariff method is the fixed rate per unit irrespective of the power demand and wind speed. To overcome this drawback and to promote the usage of wind energy, in this research, an optimal ‘Flexible Feed in Tariff’ model for wind energy purchase has been developed. This tariff is designed based on the variable nature of wind speed and daily power demand using fuzzy logic. This ‘Flexible Feed in Tariff’ will benefit both Central Authority and Wind Power Producers. Finally, the proposed tariff model is compared with current tariff, Independent Power producer Tariff and Private parties Tariff of Tamilnadu state of India, which depicts that the proposed tariff model is better than other compared tariff mechanism.

  With an eye on affording much-needed copyright and safety to multimedia data, a number of methods have been put forward by experts in the field of digital image watermarking. Among them, digital watermarking using wavelet transform has gained supreme significance, keen enthusiasm due to its perceptual visibility and robustness among different attacks. In this study, dynamic prediction error integrated reversible image watermarking is proposed. The technique consists of four modules, namely pre-processing module, pixel prediction module, embedding module and extraction module. Watermark embedding is carried out by calculation of prediction error. The evaluation metric used are Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Normalised Correlation (NC). We can see high NC and PSNR obtained for the technique with an average NC of 0.996 and PSNR of 51.8. Highest PSNR obtained was 54.05. Robustness analysis for various attacks such as filter, noise, cropping and blurring were also carried out. Comparative analysis is also carried out with respect to our earlier work, base paper and conventional method. From the evaluation metric values, we can infer that the proposed technique has obtained good results.
