This part of the paper is concern with the development of a mathematical model for the simulation of sysnchronous and asynchronous machine using three-phase coordination. The phase coordinate method allows ready analysis of system unbalance, and the model is applicable to alternating current machines under these conditions. The paper deals with the implementation of AC machine and drives dynamic equations.

In this part, an alternating current machines drives and control methods were implemented. Fortran Language program were used for digital simulation. A six-step inverter and sinusoidal pulse-width modulation inverter are used for the induction machine. With indirect vector control method introducing into the current-controlled dead-beat inverter derive system, the induction motor can be operated in all four quadrants and speed can be controlled from zero to full value where a smooth and fast torque response is obtained throughtout the range of the operation. Different types of simulation examples are examined for AC machines and results are discussed.

In order to specify appropriate protection equipment and switchgear and to evaluate winding stresses and shaft torques subsequent to unsymmetrical operation full three-phase dynamic analytical techniques are necessary. In this paper a methodology of machine interconnection is presented which uses a combination of nodal analysis and current summation. In the combined method, a synchronous generator is treated not only as current source but also a voltage source. Thus in the procedure adopted it is not only the current flow which is of interest but also the voltage characteristics of the machine. When conducting simulation studies for accurate protection of the power system network, transducers (Current Transformer (CT) and Capacitor Voltage Transformer (CVT)) should be represented very accurately. The present work also describes the integration of the transducers into a small power system network for protection signalling. The transducers are represented including magnetic non-linearity and hysteresis effects. The practical application of the analysis under abnormal operation is presented and the responses of the transducers are examined.

Sedimentation is the separation of suspended particles from water by gravitational setting. In this paper, concentration of suspended particles in fresh water is considered for sedimentation process that is modeled by mass balance equation. The solution approach is based on the inflow-outflow concentrations and sizes of the suspended particles in the water. Experimental tests are performed in the Gaziantep City water treatment system and the data derived from the system are used in simulation. Experimental results and simultaneous results are compared to outline the characteristics of the real system.

Water supply systems are becoming more important, since there are increasing requirements to improve operation whilst improving the environment so that their behaviour can be fully understood and the total process is optimized. This paper presents simulation and control of water supply system of Gaziantep city in Turkey for management purposes. The main objectives are to ensure the behavior of a water supply system and to regulate the water flow and heads by manipulating the water pumps. The systems consists of a sequence of pumping stations that deliver water through pipelines to intermediate storage reservoirs. The model used is obtained using dominant system variables that represent active and passive dynamical elements. The hydraulic models also include the nonlinear coupling between flows and reservoir heads. The polynomial H optimisation method is used to design a level controller that regulates water flow and heads through the system. The whole system is simulated, and the results are presented and compared with the real-time measured data.
