  The present study aimed to investigate the effects of Corn Oligopeptides (COP) on acute alcoholism in rat models. Female SD rats were randomly assigned to 4 groups per test including control group and 3 COP intervention groups (2.25, 4.5 and 9 g/kg/BW). About 5 g/kg/BW ethanol (8 g/kg/BW for loss of righting reflex test) was given intragastricly 10 min before COP treatment. Ethanol levels in blood, behavioral studies and ADH activity in liver were assayed. Researchers found that COP treatment could promote the alcohol metabolism and correct the movement disorder caused by alcohol consumption to some extent. However, the ADH levels had no changes among different groups. These findings suggest that COP have a protective effect on acute alcoholism in rats.

  Two new erbium compounds, [Er2(BDC)3(DMF)2] (1) and [Er2(CQC)3(DMF)3(H2O)] · DMF · H2O (2), where BDC stands for 1,4-benzenedicarboxylate, CQC for 2-(4-carboxyquinolin-2-yl)quinoline-4-carboxylate, and DMF for N,N-dimethylformamide, have been synthesized through pre-heating and cooling-down crystallization. In 1 the Er(III) is seven-coordinate with oxygen atoms from six BDC and one DMF, forming a three-dimensional open-framework structure. Compound 2 possesses a 2D structure based on dinuclear Er(III) building units. The photoluminescence of 1 has also been investigated.

  Relationships between carbon (C) production and nitrogen (N) mineralization were investigated in two alpine wetland soils of the Tibetan Plateau using laboratory incubation under different temperatures (5, 15, 25, and 35°C) and water saturation (noninundation and inundation). A significant positive relationship was found between CO2 production and N mineralization under increasing temperatures from 5 to 35°C with the same water saturation condition in the marsh soil (r2 > 0.49, P <0.0001) and the peat soil (r2 > 0.38, P < 0.002), and a negative relationship with water saturation increasing at the same temperature, especially 25 and 35°C, in the marsh soil (r2 > 0.70, P < 0.009) and the peat soil (r2 > 0.61, P < 0.013). In conclusion, temperatures and water saturation could regulate the relationship between CO2 production and net N mineralization in the Tibetan alpine marsh and peat soils.
