  Effect of impaired channel information on received SNR over Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) channel was investigated. MIMO channel was converted into equivalent independent parallel channels through Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) of the channel matrix. Levels of degradations of MIMO channel efficiency due to impairments in the available channel information at the transmitter and the receiver has been shown through simulations. It has been observed in the simulation that maximum received SNR is obtained when transmitted signal distribution among transmit antennas and received signal combination is matched with channel gains of the equivalent parallel channels.

  In this study we have investigated the performance of space-time coding over flat rayleigh fading channel under different modulation schemes, such as BPSK, QPSK, 8-PSK and 16-QAM. It is shown by computer simulation that the performance of BPSK is the best among the 4-types and QPSK is better than 8-PSK and 8-PSK is better than 16-QAM.

  Speech recognition and speaker identification are important for authentication and verification in security purpose, but they are difficult to achieve. Speaker identification methods can be divided into text-independent and text-dependent. This study presents a technique of text-dependent speaker identification using MFCC-domain Support Vector Machine (SVM). In this research, Mel-Frequency Cepstrum Coefficients (MFCCs) and their statistical distribution properties are used as features, which will be inputs to the neural network. This research firstly used Sequential Minimum Optimization (SMO) learning technique for SVM that improve performance over traditional techniques Chunking, Osuna. The cepstrum coefficients representing the speaker characteristics of a speech segment are computed by nonlinear filter bank analysis and discrete cosine transform. The speaker identification ability and convergence speed of the SVMs are investigated for different combinations of features. Extensive experimental results on several samples show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

  M-commerce is one of the most important application domains for mobile devices, enabling users to perform commercial transaction at anytime and wherever they go. As a low cost wireless communication system we could use m-commerce for socio-economic development of Bangladesh. In this study, we proposed two m-commerce models for the development of m-commerce in Bangladesh, especially for the payment of electric bill, gas bill and water bill in an easy way. With the existing availability of the mobile phones and present socio-economic condition, our technique may be implemented for the payment in urban area and most of the rural area.

  Probit analysis showed that the LC50 of Neem oil (NO) 50% EC for two sets of brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens (Stal) (mother population) were 0.202 and 0.224%. The LC50 values of NO 50 % EC to BPH increased by 1.65 folds in the 10th generation of the first set, and also increased 1.63 folds in the 5thand 1.54 folds in 7thgeneration of the second set. These increases may be caused either due to loss of bio-efficacy or inconsistency in killing efficacy of neem oil. After three applications of the treatments, the population of BPH increased in monocrotophos and as well as neem treated plots. However, resurgence ratios among different treatments (NO 3 ml/litre of water, NO 4.5ml/litre of water, monocrotophos and deltamethrin) showed no significant differences. It may be concluded that further studies are needed to recommend neem oil for use commercially to control BPH.
