Atta-ur- Rahman, Atia-tul- Wahab, S. Zia Sultani, Sarfraz A. Nawaz and M. Iqbal Choudhary

Abstract: A new bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloid, 1,2-dihydrokurramine (1), and four known bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloids 2-5, along with a morphinan alkaloid 6 were isolated from Cocculus pendulus. The structures for these compounds were deduced by spectroscopic methods. All bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloids showed inhibitory activities against acetyl- and butyrylcholinesterases.
