Stem Cells for Treating Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease
Sarder Nasir Uddin and Md. Eunus Ali

Abstract:
The aim of this study to find out and accumulate the possible way of recent treatments of ankylosing spondylitis specially by using Stem Cells. There is accumulating evidence that anti-tumor-necrosis-factor (anti-TNF) therapy is highly effective in SpA, especially in ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis. In ankylosing spondylitis there is an unmet medical need, since there are almost no disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs available for severely affected patients, especially those with spinal manifestations. This review found that the replacement therapy of stem cells led to a new idea: by taking healthy stem cells from the developing goat`s bone marrow cells or human blastocyst and transplanting them into the affected area of a ankylosing spondylitis patient. The cell survives and they formed connections with the surrounding tissue. Transplantation strategies based on stem cells present enormous potential for repairing the damage caused by ankylosing spondylitis disease. Stems cells may also be preferable to other tissue, especially if they can be derived from the patient`s own body, avoiding potential immunological problems. So, stem cell replacement therapy for ankylosing spondylitis disease will some day become a therapeutic reality.

My brother is currently 16, he has been diagnosed with anklosing spondylities since about 2 years, he cannot turn his head properly, and has arithritic like symptoms on his fingers and legs and used to complain about, hip pain, he was started on infliximab therapy , but this was later discontinued, for some reason. i read with hope that such stem cell therapy can help restore his problems, he is indian ethinicity, lives in singapore and was diagnosed based on X-ray showing sacrolic joint fusion, identifying the B27 gene, C-reactive protein as well as ESR to show evidence of inflammation. Is this useful information that can help you do you have an alternative form to contact u
