New Investigation of Image Transmission using Radio over Fiber System

Abstract: In this study, the feasibility of image transmission over Radio Over Fiber (ROF) system using Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (COFDM) is presented. The performance analyses based on Bit-error Ratio (BER) are extensively investigated. In addition, the effect of fiber length on the image quality is introduced. Moreover, the effect of the exponent refractive index profile of the Multimode Fiber (MMF) on the BER of COFDM is studied. Consequently, both Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Mean Square Error (MSE) of the received image are evaluated. Moreover, the measured multimode fiber link is included in the analysis to investigate the image quality and its BER.
