Abstract: In this study, we report a simple and eco-friendly synthesis of silver nanoparticles using natural product, Setaria italica husk. The formation of silver nanoparticles was confirmed and characterized by using UV-Vis spectrophotometer, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray analysis, particle size analyzer and transmission electron microscopy for their size, distribution and morphology. Average particle size of the synthesized silver nanoparticles was found to be 30 nm. Antimicrobial activity of the synthesized silver nanoparticles was studied against Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria, Staphylococcus and Escherichia coli sps., respectively.
