Abstract: Cultivars Deciso, Hong Kong, Jessica, Jester Ruffled, Madonna, Peters Pears, Rose Supreme and White Friendship were used in the present study. The corms of these cultivars were planted on November-1, December-1 and January-1 of 2003-04 and 2004-05. Cultivar Rose Supreme yielded maximum first floret size both at color showing and full open stage (1.4, 2.1 cm, respectively), maximum spike lengths (122.4 cm) at full spike opening and maximum number of 16.2 florets per spike. Cultivar Jessica resulted in maximum number of spikes (1.5). A delay in planting date (Nov-1, Dec-1 and Jan-1) resulted in decreased number of spikes (0.9, 0.9 and 0.8). Rose Supreme planted on January-1 produced spikes with maximum lengths both at first floret opening (97.3 cm) and at full spike opening (125.3 cm). However, Jessica when planted on November-1 in year-1 (2003-04) resulted in more spikes (2.0). Jester Ruffled planted on November-1 in year-2 (2004-05) produced maximum spike lengths (106.5 cm) and more number of florets per spike (19.6). Rose Supreme planted on November-1 in year-2 (2004-05) produced maximum spike lengths (136.7 cm) at full spike opening.
