Abstract: In the present investigation, the Aspergillus niger mutant UV-M9 was evaluated using phosphate limitations for enhanced citric acid production. Of the three phosphate sources, K2HPO4 was found to be the best yielding 75.25 gl-1 of anhydrous citric acid. The sugar consumption was 112.5 gl-1 while dry cell mass produced was 18.00 gl-1. The mycelia were small pellets.
