Abstract: The experiments were conducted to evaluate the efficacy of antagonistic P. fluorescens in controlling wilt of tomato caused by R. solanacearum in the field. The tomato variety Manik showed 42.59% and Pusa Rubi showed 46.29% bacterial wilt. The lowest bacterial wilt incidence (35.18%) was recorded in T2 (soil drenching of P. fluorescens) and highest incidence was in control plot. Plant height, number of branches/plant, number of fruits/plant, total fruit weight/plant and fruit yield (t ha–1) was significantly highest in T2 and lowest was in untreated control (T0). Soil drenching by using P. fluorescens suspension contained 109 cfu/ml (T2) may be used for controlling wilt and increasing yield of tomato.
