Abstract: Experiment on comparative response of three varieties of barley i.e. Jau 83, Jau 87 and Haider 93 to water stress revealed that all varieties significantly differed in yield potential and exhibited different response to various treatments. The water stress imposed at early stages did not show any remarkable adverse effect on yield; however, yield was reduced by 62.29% when stress was applied at seed formation stage (ninety days old crop). Variety Jau 83 proved better than the other two.
