Abstract: The effect of different nitrogenous fertilizer sources i.e. Urea, Ammonium Nitrate, Nitrophos and Di-ammonium Phosphate on the agronomical characteristics of three wheat varieties viz; Suleman-96, Bakhtawar-92 and Khyber-87 was carried out at the Faculty of Agriculture, Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan. Different nitrogenous fertilizers had significantly affected plant height, number of tillers, spikelets per spike and biological yield of all the wheat varieties. The over all biological yield of Suleman-96 was significantly increased by the application of ammonium nitrate as compared to all other treatments.
