Effect of Gibberellic Acid on the Nucleic Acids Content in Wheat Seedlings (Triticum aestivum L.-cv.) Grown under Water Deficit

Abstract:
This study attempts to explore the changes in the amount of nucleic acids of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.-cv) seedlings in relation with water deficit and the effect of gibberellic acid (GA3) on these changes. It was found that water deficit caused a decrease and GA3 application following water stress caused an increase in the amount of nucleic acids of wheat seedlings leaves. Similar results were observed in nucleic acids amount of mitochondria and chloroplasts.
