Vibration Analysis of Rectangular Plates with Mixed Boundary Conditions and Sprung Masses using the Differential Quadrature Method

Abstract:
The dynamic characteristics of plates with mixed boundary and sprung mass are investigated. The vibration analysis of plates with various boundary conditions and sprung masses is numerically modeled using the differential quadrature method. The differential quadrature method is applied to each region and with the imposition of appropriate boundary conditions and the problem is transformed into a standard eigenvalue problem. The results also demonstrate the efficiency of the method in treating this class of engineering problem.
