ABSTRACT
The efficiency of a container yard is an important factor for the performances of container terminals it serves. In one container yard, there are commonly different types of equipments suitable for different kinds of container handling tasks, which should be paid great attention to while making schedules for the equipments. Otherwise, the efficiency of the container yard could be greatly reduced. In this study, it is presented a tree-like model for this problem, in consideration of the relationship between types of equipments and kinds of handling tasks. Afterwards, it is used an A* search method to solve the model. Numerical Experiments are later conducted in order to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the solution method.
