  This study was designed to analyze the association between polymorphisms of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) and cashmere production traits (fineness, thickness and yield) and body weight. PCR-SSCP (single-strand conformational polymorphism) and DNA sequencing were used to detect polymorphisms of IGF-1 gene in 776 samples of three Xinjiang local goat breeds (Xinjiang, Bogeda Cashmere and Nanjiang Cashmere Goat). The obtained results showed that the frequencies of genotype AA were 0.414, 0.591 and 0.319. Genotype AB were 0.000, 0.126 and 0.029. Genotype BB were 0.586, 0.241 and 0.597 and genotype AC were 0.000, 0.042 and 0.055 for Xinjiang, Bogeda Cashmere and Nanjiang Cashmere Goat breeds, respectively. The mutation was detected at IGF-1-P1 locus, a novel of SNP was revealed in exon 4 (Genebank D26119: c.1617 G >A, c.1620 C>T) and they belong to silent mutation, which was the first reported in international goat. In addition, a novel of SNP at IGF-1-P1 locus is significantly associated with cashmere production traits. In Nanjiang Cashmere Goat population, the cashmere fineness of AA genotype individual was significantly (p<0.05) lower than that of AB genotype. The body weight of AC genotype individual was significantly (p<0.05) higher than that of BB genotype.

  Searching for effects of candidate gene polymorphisms on cashmere production traits is an important goal for goat industry. Genetic variations in IGF-1 may alter protein function. This study investigated the association between polymorphisms in insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) and cashmere traits data with two Xinjiang local goat breeds. The results showed IGF-1-P1 locus has polymorphisms. The polymorphism locus of IGF-1-P1 by PCR-RFLP and DNA sequencing methods in 530 individuals from two Xinjiang local goat breeds in China. The frequencies of genotype AA in two goat breeds (Xinjiang goat, Nanjiang cashmere goat) were 0.487 and 0.277. Genotype BB was 0.274 and 0.486. Genotype AB was 0.239 and 0.236. The polymorphisms of the IGF-1 gene were associated with cashmere yield, fiber diameter, body weight in cashmere goat. However, concern on cashmere production traits among three genotypes were shown not significantly (p>0.05).

  In the present study, effects of early weaned time on biochemical indicators in serum of lambs of Xinjiang local sheep breeds in China were analized. The lamb of Chinese Merino sheep (Xinjiang type) (M), Kazak sheep (K) and Bayinbuluk sheep (B) were used for as experiment animals. The lambs were sorted as three groups (G1 and G2) are experiment groups, early weaning at 40 and 60 days, respectively fed with milk replacer. The control group suckled with milk of ewes (G3). Blood samples were collected at 90 days of the lambs. The indicators in serum measured include: ALB, SUN, CHOL, GLU, TG, LDL, HDL, AST, ALT, LDH, Cp, IgG, IgM, IgA. The results show: As for biochemical indicators in serum reflecting nutrient material metabolism, Chinese Merino sheep (Xinjiang type): experiment groups are higher than G3 at SUN level, significantly (p<0.05). As for GLU level, G1 is significantly lower than G3 (p<0.05). G1 is significantly lower than G3 at CHOL level (p<0.05). There are no significant differences at other parameters among groups. Kazak sheep: experiment groups are higher than G3 at SUN level, significantly (p<0.05). As for the GLU level, G2 is significantly higher than G3 (p<0.05). As for CHOL, LDL, DHL level, experiment groups are significantly higher than G3 (p<0.05). Bayinbuluk sheep: As for SUN level, experiment groups are significantly lower than G3 p<0.05). As for GLU level, experiment groups are significantly higher than G3 (p<0.05). CHOL, TG, LDL and HDL level of lambs in serum were not significant affected by early weaning. As for the change of enzyme activity in serum reflecting stress of lambs, Chinese Merino sheep (Xinjiang type): experiment groups are significantly higher than G3 at AST activity (p<0.05), G1 is significantly lower than G3 at ALT activity (p<0.05), G2 is significantly lower than G3 at LDH activity (p<0.05). Kazak sheep: As for AST activity, G1 is significantly lower than G3 (p<0.05). As for the ALT, LDH activity, there are no significant differences among groups. Bayinbuluk sheep: ALT, AST, LDH activity in serum of lambs were not affected by early weaning. As for the change of Immunoglobulin and Cp in serum, Chinese Merino sheep (Xinjiang type): G1 is singnificantly lower than G3 at IgG level (p<0.05). Kazak sheep: Experiment groups are significantly lower than G3 at IgM level (p<0.05). Bayinbuluk sheep: there are no significant differences at IgA, IgM, IgG and Cp level among groups. In conclusion, early weaning have not negative effect on indicators in serum of Bayinbuluke lamb. As for weaning age, it is better for China merino (Xinjiang type) and Kazakh lamb to wean at 60 days, there is no significant differences weaned at 40 and 60 days for Bayinbuluke lamb.

  Keratin Intermediate-Filament (KIF) proteins form the main structural elements of a wool fibre. In this study, PCR-RFLP and DNA sequencing methods were used to detect polymorphisms of KIF-1 gene in 786 samples of 3 Xinjiang local goat breeds (Xinjiang, Nanjiang Cashmere and Bogeda Cashmere goat). The results showed that KIF-1-P3 locus has polymorphisms. The frequencies of genotype AA were 0.675, 0.577 and 0.766, genotype AB were 0.296, 0.400 and 0.234, genotype BB were 0.030, 0.023 and 0.000 for Xinjiang, Nanjiang Cashmere and Bogeda Cashmere goat breeds, respectively. The genotypic distributions were in disagreement with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium in Nanjiang Cashmere goat breed. In addition, the mutation was detected at KIF-1-P3 locus by DNA sequencing method, a novel of SNP was revealed in exon 3 (Genebank M23912: c.3212 C>T) and it belongs to synonymous mutation. However, there is no significant difference in Xinjiang goat breed between polymorphisms of the KIF-1 gene and cashmere production traits (fineness, thickness, yield and body weight after combing). Moreover, analysis of variance indicated that various genotypes in the 3 Xinjiang goat breeds were highly significant (p<0.01).

  This experiment was designed to study on wild sparrows artificial incubation and feeding in order to search effect methods on biological pests preventing, aimed at minimizing use of pesticides and reaching to harmonious development between ecological environment and economy. Moreover, it plays a positive role on local eco-environment protection and income gaining of fruits farmers. Total 162 sparrow eggs were collected to study the influence of the temperature and humidity on hatchability of the fertilized eggs from the sparrows. The sparrow eggs were sorted to three groups randomly, each group was 54 eggs. Then 60 chick sparrows aged 1 day old were selected from artificial incubation nestles as samples to study the effect of different feeds on body weight and length. The sparrows were assigned to two groups randomly, experimental and control groups, the test group fed with Tenebrous, the control group fed with feed. The results show: the hatchability of the sparrows’ fertilized eggs is relatively high when the temperature was 38.0, 37.6 and 37.2°C and the incubator humidity was 62, 55 and 67% at the early stage, the medium-term and the latter of incubation, respectively. The results of artificial feeding experiment show that compared with the control group, the average daily gain of sparrows in experimental group is higher significantly by 8.65% (p<0.05), the feed/weight ratio lower by 34.07% dramatically (p<0.01), there were no differences (p>0.05) on the body length. There is no report on artificial incubation and feeding of sparrows.
