The aim of this study is to develop an accurate model which is able to predict the performance of a three-phase inverter associated to a squirrel cage Induction Motor (IM). The proposed approach is a sensor-based technique using the current measurement. A localization domain illustrated by seven patterns is built with the stator Concordia mean current vector. One pattern corresponds to the healthy domain and the remaining six patterns are linked to the state of each inverter switch. The simulated results and the spectral analysis of the average vector current contours in the Alpha Beta (", $) plan have allowed to investigate the voltage inverter state and to locate unambiguously the damaged switch. A data acquisition system card is proposed for practical tests. |

This study deals with the application of Fuzzy Logic to Control (FLC) speed regulation of an Indirect Field Oriented (IFO) induction motor and compares the simulation results with this obtained by conventional PI controller have been. The proposed fuzzy logic controlled constituted by fuzzy IF-Then rules with this learning capability, can learn and tune rapidly, even when the motor parameters variation. The speed control performance is demonstrated by some simulation results . |

This study deals with a global method enabling the simulation for the detection of rotor cage faults in opérating three phase induction motors. This method is based on the coupled magnetic circuit theory and it presents an application regarding possibilities of predicting the performance in electrical machine. The system of differential equations describing the induction motor in presence of rotor faults is given. The machine inductances are calculated by means of the magnetic energy stored in the airgap. This task is performed by the use of the winding functions method and a previously developed airgap permeance analytical model. Finally, some simulation results illustrate the proposed global method in the case of the broken rotor bars faults of induction motors. |

The electric drive at variable speed is inevitably requested by external perturbation and it is the seat of its parametric variations. These effects, influence considerably on its behavior. However, this study presents a contribution aiming to improve the performances of an electric drive thanks to the use of the algorithms of the Sliding Mode Control (SMC). The results of digital simulation obtained, illustrate good performances of this technique. |
