Preliminary SEM Observations on the Seed Testa Structure of Gladiolus L. Species from Turkey
Osman Erol, Erdal Uzen and Orhan Kucuker

Abstract:
Seed micromorphology of six Gladiolus L. species from Turkey were studied. Seeds were collected and stored under cold and dry conditions. SEM pictures were taken for details. A complete description of testa sculpture was given. Four different surface structures described on the anticlinal walls: tuberculate, colliculate, reticulate, reticulate-foveate and also two different types of cuticular foldings were detected on periclinal walls: furrowed and irregular wrinkles.
